Try Sesame Chicken Lettuce Wraps This Weekend!

This is an easy recipe at that we frequently have at home.   It’s super yummy, quick to prepare and the kids even like it!


1/2 tsp sesame oil sesame-lettuce-wrap

1/2 lb ground chicken (or turkey)

1.5 cups sliced shiitake mushrooms

1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp corn starch

1 large carrot, chopped fine

3 green onions, thinly sliced

Large leaves of Boston lettuce

In a large frying pan, cook chicken until no longer pink and is crumbly.  Add mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes.  In a small bowl, whisk together broth, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar and cornstarch (until cornstarch dissolves).  Add to the chicken mixture.  Remove from heat. Stir in carrots and green onions.  Season with a bit of pepper.  Scoop a heaping 1/2 cup on to lettuce leaves.
