There’s No ‘I’ in ‘Team’

It was a typical day at my Richmond Hill chiropractic practice: an assortment of patients with conditions ranging from neck pain to back pain, shoulder injury to groin pull, arthritis discomfort to carpal tunnel symptoms.

But then I had a new patient whom I’ll call John. He was a middle aged man with a primary complaint of chronic headaches. Usually a headache problem is right up my alley. But as I listened to this gentleman explain this problem in detail, it became increasingly puzzling.

Why? Because the symptoms and onset of the headaches didn’t match anything I’d ever come across before in chiropractic. He had seen numerous other specialists and nobody could give him an answer either.

In the end, I told him that I didn’t believe that I could help him if I didn’t know specifically what I was dealing with. Instead I referred him to a homeopath and Bowen therapist, whom I thought would be more appropriate in providing him a solution for his long standing problem.

Why am I sharing this story? Simply because I want you to know that I will make the appropriate referral and work with other health care providers to help you achieve your health care goals. As wonderful as chiropractic can be for many health problems, there are reasonable limitations in what it can fix and in what I know as a doctor. However, when we work TOGETHER as a TEAM, answers can be found.
TEAMWORK…this is Health Care The Way It Should Be.
