Leo Huang, PT
Physiotherapist
My journey to becoming a physiotherapist began in the weight room. As a dedicated powerlifter, I frequently experienced injuries, particularly in my lower back and shoulders. While physiotherapy provided temporary relief, the pain often returned once treatments stopped. This frustrating cycle revealed a crucial lesson: lasting recovery requires more than passive treatments; it requires a deep understanding of the root cause and the tools to address it independently.
This experience shaped my entire philosophy. I obtained my Master of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Western Ontario in 2024, following my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the same institution. For seven years, I not only studied at Western but also worked as a strength and conditioning coach for its varsity athletes. This unique dual expertise allows me to blend the precise, rehabilitative science of physiotherapy with the performance-based principles of strength training.
My treatment is active and educational. I prioritize helping you understand your condition, demystifying the pain, and creating a clear path forward. Together, we will build a progressive home exercise program using minimal equipment, empowering you to take control of your recovery. For immediate pain relief, I incorporate techniques like acupuncture/dry needling and manual therapy to support your active rehab.
My goal is simple: to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to not only recover but to prevent future injuries and perform at your best. Let's work together to fix the problem, not just the pain.
