Maria Peatiwala, PT
Physiotherapist
I believe in helping people move well, recover properly and stay active at every stage of life, not just after an injury.
I earned my Doctor of Physiotherapy at Dow University of Health Sciences in Pakistan and began my career in hospital settings, providing inpatient and outpatient care across orthopedics, neurology and pediatrics. I also trained in intensive care and stroke rehabilitation, which gives me a strong understanding of complex neurological and medical conditions. Since moving to Ontario, I have worked as a Registered Physiotherapist treating post-trauma, sports and workplace injuries, including extended health care, motor vehicle accidents and WSIB cases.
My approach combines evidence-based care with hands-on treatment and personalized exercise programs that I adjust as you progress. I use manual therapy alongside shockwave, laser and electrotherapy, and I work closely with chiropractors, massage therapists and other providers so your care plan is coordinated rather than fragmented. I also take pride in patient education. Understanding your injury, your posture and your daily movement habits is one of the best ways to keep it from coming back.
What makes my practice a little different is the range of care I can offer under one roof. In 2026, I completed advanced training in vestibular rehabilitation and concussion management, as well as pelvic health physiotherapy for urinary incontinence. Many people quietly live with leaking, pelvic pain, dizziness or lingering concussion symptoms, and are told these are normal or just something to put up with. They don't have to be. Effective treatment exists, and I'm passionate
about making it easier to ask for help.
My philosophy is simple. Physiotherapy is not only about recovering from an injury or surgery, it is about staying healthy, active and doing the things you love for years to come. Just as we maintain our vehicles to keep them running well, our bodies benefit from proactive care.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing ongoing pain, preparing for pregnancy, returning to sport or simply wanting to move with more confidence, my goal is to help you build strength, improve mobility and support your long-term health.
Investing in your health today is one of the greatest gifts you can give your future self, and I'm here to help you every step of the way.
