Preparing For Your InBody Advanced Body Composition Analysis
Important: Individuals who have a pacemaker or metal pins/rods/plates in their body and pregnant women may not perform the InBody scan. Women who are menstruating are not recommended to do the InBody test.
To ensure accurate results, please attempt to maintain similar testing conditions. For the body composition test it is important that you adhere to the following conditions:
Fast for at Least 3 Hours. Ideally perform the body composition test first thing in the morning BEFORE breakfast. or refrain from eating 3 to 4 hours before testing.
Hydrate. Drink at least 500 mL (2 cups) water within 2 hrs before the test. If you perform the test in a dehydrated state, your results will falsely show a higher body fat measurement.
No Alcohol. You must NOT have consumed alcoholic beverages in the previous 12 hours. Alcohol is dehydrating to the body and will skew your results.
Refrain from Training. Refrain from any excessive physical activity in the 24 hours before - so make the day before a lightly active day or a recovery day from training.
Maintain Normal Body Temperature. Do not exercise, take a hot shower, or use a sauna right before testing.
Use the Restroom. Use the bathroom prior to testing.
Wear Light Clothes. Wear light clothing for the test. Jeans and heavy sweatshirts will skew your results. Try to wear the same clothes each time for more accuracy.
