Dr. Keith Tse, DC CAFCI
As a chiropractor in Richmond Hill/Oak Ridges, patients routinely see me for conditions such as:
- Low back pain/Sciatica
- Neck pain
- Shoulder or elbow injuries/tendonitis
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Knee, ankle, foot pain
- Plantar fasciitis
- Sports injuries
At the core of chiropractic care is the adjustment. I use spinal or extremity adjustments where joints are misaligned or subluxated, or where there is reduced joint motion. A subluxation or joint restriction can be carefully felt through my hands and fingers. With a quick push and/or rotation at the specific joint, a chiropractic adjustment aims to correct the problem. Typically, you and I will both feel and hear a popping sound which is simply the release of gas within the joint, much like when you crack your knuckles. In some cases, I might perform an adjustment with anActivator, a spring-loaded instrument which applies a small impulse to the spine.
If you have never had a chiropractic adjustment, or if you haven’t had one in a very long time, you might have a bit of soreness for a few seconds. Within a few treatments, patients begin to experience relief of their pain, increased range of motion and strength, and decrease muscle tension. To assist your recovery and to prevent future occurrences of your problem, I will provide you with postural or ergonomic advice and some simple core-building exercises to stabilize your spine which you can do in the comfort of your own home. Combined as a whole, you can expect to maximize your results from care with me.
I also recommend that everyone should continue with ongoing, regular chiropractic maintenance care both from a prevention and wellness point of view. By keeping your spine tuned up you can expect better performance and longevity out of it. Much like you would change the oil in your car or bring it in for regular service, your spine and body need to be taken care of properly. Letting your car (or body) deteriorate and then break down on the road is always a more expensive consequence than proactive, preventative care.
If you are looking to enhance your overall health & wellness, chiropractic care should be a part of your lifestyle. In addition to pain, subluxations can also irritate your nervous system causing a disruption in the signals to every cell, tissue and organ of your body. This miscommunication or lack of communication can result in poor functioning of any bodily system: cardiovascular, pulmonary, immune, digestive, genitourinary, etc. Many people who use chiropractic care tell me they experience improvements in their asthma, blood pressure, menstrual pains, bloating, frequency in colds/flu, and so on. It just makes sense…if you maximize your nervous system function, you maximize your body’s function!
