In the past 25 years I have worked with many athletes in sports such as Rugby, Hockey and Basketball. I have travelled internationally to England, France and Germany and more, working with 1 to 3 soccer teams as the Head Therapist with Bryst International.
I have been fortunate to have treated National, Olympic, Paralympic, Pan Am and Para Pan Am athletes at the Canadian Sport Institute of Ontario and am the Massage Therapist for Swim Ontario.
I was selected as part of the Core Canadian Medical Team for the 2019 World University Games in Italy and am an Alternate for the 2021 Japan Olympic Games for Massage Therapy.
My clinical work includes assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of concussions, sports injuries, chronic pain and post-surgery rehab with many different conditions.
My treatments vary from traditional deep tissue, relaxation, and pregnancy massage with 40-50% of my clients choosing lighter manual therapies such as Matrix Repatterning, Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Matrix Manual Therapy. These treatments are easily integrated with one another.
I understand the impact, pain and suffering that injuries have on athletes, weekend warriors and desk jockeys, and the importance of early treatment and rehabilitation for return to sport, work, school, or play. I have been under the knife a few times for both my knees, broken at least one bone in my body, have had stitches from head to toe and have had more than five concussions.
Furthermore, I also view Massage and Athletic Therapy as proactive and preventative self-care for maintenance of total mind, body and spirit wellness.
